Wouldn’t football be more interesting if more teams had porn stars campaigning for their boyfriends to be club president? Once again Barcelona lead the way.

You may remember Juan Laporta. He was president of Barcelona from 2003 to 2010 and can be largely credited with helping put the Catalan giants at the peak of European football (sorry Chelsea).

Anyway, Laporta is now a member of the Catalan Parliament, with Sandro Rosell now the top man at Barca. After a disappointing year by their own incredibly high standards, there are very small murmurings around Barcelona of ditching Rosell and getting Laporta back.

And Laporta’s reported other half, Spanish porn star Maria Lapiedra, is so behind the idea that she has released a song that demands her man gets back in the Barca hot seat.

Called, ‘Laporta, mi hombre’, translated as ‘Laporta, my man’ the song is not one of the best you will ever hear and the video, while it has certain, ahem, charms, may be the cheapest musical promotional clip ever produced.

Thanks to the Dirty Tackle blog we know that some of the lyrics says the following:

"The man who brought glory and honor and victory, prestige and value.
The man who punched the Whites with that 6-2 win.
The man who moved my bed, with Catalan fury, manhood and love."

Indeed. We don't know if the voters will be swayed by this video if they get a chance to depose Rosell but it certainly livens up the off season.

And wouldn’t the GAA be better if the next presidential election had a similar campaign? Actually, maybe not.
