Our Love Your County series continues today with a focus on Sligo, home of the 2007 Connacht champions.
Sporting moment: Connacht champions, 2007
The Yeats County has not enjoyed too many senior successes (three Connacht championships), but the last of those in 2007 some joyous scenes after a one point win over Galway.
Having edged past Roscommon in the semi-final, the Tribesmen were heavily favoured to win, but an Eamon O’Hara inspired Sligo won out on a scoreline of 1-10 to 0-12.
We’re sure anyone from Sligo will enjoy the highlights from the game and the celebrations seen afterwards.
Climb Benbulben
Why not get out and explore, not to mention hike, one of Ireland’s most scenic areas. Steeped in history and scene to plane crashes during World War II, it is a great way to spend some time.

Stroll along the beaches
From Mullaghmore to Streedagh, some of the best beaches in the country are located in Sligo, and more in between. A great way to clear the head, wake up in the morning or exercise during the day.
