GAA Features

So what's this GAA Championship Timeline we've been hearing about?
If you haven't heard by now - and let's face it, many of us have had our focus more on Poznan than Portlaoise for the last few weeks - something new has raised its head in the online world inhabited by Gaelic football supporters.
It’s called the Championship Timeline, and it covers anything and everything related to the Football Championship since its modest upbringing way back in the late 19th century.
The Championship Timeline was brought into existence in association with eircom, the sponsor of the football championship.
So what exactly is it? Well, it’s an interactive feature which allows GAA supporters to sift through some of the most magical and memorable moments in the history of Gaelic football. Mikey Sheehy v Paddy Cullen, Maurice Fitzgerald’s point from the sideline and Seamus Darby’s push goal – they’re all in there.
And one of the best things about it is that it’s not just a list drawn up by a few supposedly knowledgeable GAA journos (although we’re assured that a few very knowledgeable GAA journos did spend a bit of time putting the whole thing together, so nice work lads).
No, because this isn’t just any old timeline – it’s an interactive timeline.
So if you find that your favourite moment from the history of the inter-county football championship happens to be unlisted – which would be a bit surprising, given the number of clickable links you'll find in any given decade on this particular GAA calendar – you can always add your own.
It can be a video clip, a picture or just your memory, in a few of your own words, of something you feel deserves to go down in history as a great Gaelic football moment.
So join in the biggest interactive GAA project since long before Boston College Ireland’s oral history of the Association (and we’re told you can win plenty of Championship-related prizes too).
