Every so often, we need to remind ourselves of some of the most creative pieces of improvised brilliance from our native games over the years.
Inspired by
Seadna Morey’s improvised, hurley-less pick-up against Tipperary last night, we decided to revisit some more examples of some unconventional yet brilliant pieces of skill from hurling and Gaelic Football in modern times.
Some of the examples below, such as Joe Canning’s reverse handpass and Darran O’Sullivan’s back-flick goal, will instantly ring a bell, but there are others you might not have ever come across before. Gaelic Football diving header anyone?
