It was rumoured since Friday and now it has apparently been confirmed that goalkeeper James Skehill won’t line out for Galway this afternoon. Advantage Kilkenny?
When news filtered out on Friday night that Galway goalkeeper James Skehill had picked up an injury in training, there were as many confirming he was in as there was confirming he was out of today's showpiece.
Today’s papers suggested that the keeper would play, with respected reporters saying that he passed a fitness test yesterday and he would indeed line out to face the Cats.
However, just an hour before throw-in, Galway Hurling’s Twitter page, along with the Galway Advertiser, are saying that Skehill won’t play because of his dislocated shoulder.

Skehill’s injury is so bad, he is not even a sub according to the Twitter machine, with Fergal Flannery between the posts for the Tribesman, with Colm Callanan on the bench.
This Twitter rumour looks legit and if true it's a massive blow for Anthony Cunningham, and Galway. We will know for sure soon.
Update 15.08: Skehill has run out with the other Galway players and Anthony Cunningham tells RTE he will start. We will keep you posted.
