His reputation as a hardman on the GAA pitch was never in doubt, now Kieran McGeeney has become a purple-belt in Jiu-Jitsu.

These days the Kildare manager is more familiar with all things white, but his skills in the Brazilian mixed martials arts have been rewarded with the purple-belt in the sport.
John Kavanagh, one of the country’s top martial arts coaches tweeted the picture of McGeeney with his new belt, adding that the former All-Ireland winner is “probably one of the most intense human beings I’ve ever met”.

Sporting an impressive beard that may have Paul Galvin a little green with envy, he certainly looks the fearsome part, and we have no doubts he will have the next belt already in his sights.
