It was one way traffic as Mayo beat Galway 4-16 to 0-11 in a game that ended up being much more one-sided than predicted.
By Adrian Collins
Mayo secured their biggest Championship win since 1951 against Galway this afternoon as they hammered them 4-16 to 0-11 points in the Connacht Championship.
The stand out moment was of course, Andy Moran's goal, who had been out for nearly a year with a knee injury, and his return was greeted with loud cheers from the Mayo supporters, and his goal even moreso.
The joy on the player's face, as well as the devastation on the faces of the Galway players, is evident in this brilliant picture from the game.

Mayo were faster and stronger in the first half, and by the break, the game was over as a contest. Galway fans will be bitterly disappointed by the level of their team's performance, but the rivalry got very heated on the pitch as there were two straight reds shown to Galway captain Gareth Bradshaw and Niall Coleman.
Cavan also celebrated a win today, beating Armagh 1-15 to 1-11, while Westmeath produced an impressive performance to dismiss Carlow by a score of 3-15 to 1-10.
