Getting your name or your initials inscribed on your boots is a lot more common than it used to be but Meath’s Graham Reilly didn’t get any ordinary inscription on his new pair of kicks.
As was the case when coloured boots first came onto the market, it was only the real fancy-dans that availed of the ability to get a personalised inscription on a pair of football boots when the service first became available a good few years back.
While it was often seen, particularly on the GAA field, as an invitation to hit the wearer of said personalised football boots with a hefty shoulder as soon as possible, it’s a far more acceptable practise thanks to the availability of personalisation services on most websites selling boots nowadays.
Versatile Meath man Graham Reilly didn’t just get his name or initials inscribed on at least one new pair of boots he received from Gaelic Boots recently, however, he got this message emblazoned instead...


We’re not sure (feel free to enlighten us Meath fans) if it is in reference to a nickname of Reilly’s but we assume that it means ‘Big One’ and while Reilly is free to do whatever we wants, his decision didn’t appear to go down too well with Royals team-mate Ciaran Lenehan judging by his response on Twitter today.
