A design team have been working hard on a brand spanking new Casement Park. They released this picture today which looks out of this world.
With the best will in the world your average GAA is stadium is not jaw dropping. Even Croke Park, which is a fantastic stadium to watch a game in, is not that pretty on the eye, primarily because of Hill 16 and the decision to keep the famous terrace.
Other grounds around the country have bags of charm, character and happy memories but they aren’t stunning works of architecture. But the latest images released by Casement Park for their redesign might just change all that.
With a budget of €88million (€72m from Government, €16m from the GAA), it should be spectacular and this image certainly is.

It will be 2016 before the 38,000 all-seater is open but if it looks like this, they should have no problem filling it for Ulster finals and the like.
