We are now in an era of professional player preparation in the world of GAA, which is what makes this picture from the Kerry - Tipp clash today rather novel.
By Declan Whooley
Kerry opened their championship account when they cruised past a Tipperary side that was expected to put up more of a challenge than they did, with the Kingdom winning with 17 points to spare in front of their own supporters at Fitzgerald Stadium.
It was a frustrating day for the Premier men who had Barry Grogan sent-off after the interval for a second bookable offence.
On reaching the dugout however he was kindly offered a drink by a supporter sitting right behind him. A kind gesture no doubt, but a half drunk bottle of Coke is not something we are used to seeing for players sup on these days.

We’d imagine Grogan politely turned down the offer, though he does appear to be giving it serious thought.
