Tasty triple-header set for Semple

09/07/2012 3:14 pm

We have often criticised the GAA for their ticketing policy so hats off to them for the great value line-up they have scheduled for Semple Stadium this Saturday.

When the draw was made for Phase III of the Hurling Qualifiers this morning it looked likely that the powers that be should be able to put together a decent double header somewhere in the middle of the country.

Now, showing admirable common sense, Croke Park have put together a triple-header at Semple Stadium that should appeal to all the competing teams.

First up at 3pm is the Round 2 Qualifier between Tipperary and Wexford. That is followed by the Model hurlers clash with Cork at 5pm. The tasty local derby between Limerick and Clare in the Phase III Hurling  Qualifer will then throw-in at the same venue at 7pm.

With stand tickets just €25, and terrace tickets just €20, it’s the best value GAA ticket we have seen in a long time. Hopefully it’s a sell-out as all three games have potential to be entertaining and close.

And any Limerick fans who are concerned will be glad to know that their footballers game with Longford will throw-in at 2pm in Pearse Park, giving Treaty supporters lots of time to catch both games.
