Video: Here's why the future of Kilkenny hurling is in very good hands
Kilkenny hurling fans would have been encouraged by the display of one young fella on Wednesday night... and that’s even before the under-21s took to the field.
If the evidence of the video below is anything to go by, the rest of the chasing pack should give up now because the production line is functioning as smoothly as ever in the Marble County.
The good folks at GAA Beo alerted us to the quite sensational display of hurling skills by one young fella in a Kilkenny jersey prior to the Kilkenny v Waterford under-21 game at Nowlan Park on Wednesday night.
We’re not aware of the identity of the mini Henry Shefflin in question, but anyone who does please let us know because we’ve a feeling he has a bright future ahead of him.
Then again, this is Kilkenny so there are probably 40 or 50 lads of the same age with similar hurling tekkers, thus ensuring that their domination of the sport will continue for generations to come.
A sobering thought for the other hurling counties perhaps, but no reason not to appreciate his skills nonetheless.
