McKenna, who played a starring role for the Tyrone minors en route to the All-Ireland Final last year, including man of the match performances in the Ulster Final and the All-Ireland semi-final and a goal against Mayo in the final, was on fire for St. Pat’s Armagh in their MacRory Cup clash with St Patrick’s Academy yesterday. A brother of Tyrone senior star Ryan, McKenna put over some amazing scores with both feet from play and from placed balls and capped it all with a quite brilliant goal in the second half as he posted 1-7 out of his side’s overall tally of 2-11 in Cookstown. Unfortunately for Conor, his side ended up losing out by five points but he can reflect on a quite outstanding personal display that surely would have made followers of Gaelic Football in Ulster stand up and take notice.
