Galway’s U-21 fooballers may have caused a shock by defeating Kildare in the All-Ireland semi-final, but it seems like an umpire got the biggest fright on the day.
By Declan Whooley
The Tribesmen were the underdogs coming into the game at Tullamore today, but a fantastic performance from the men for the West, plus the fact that Kildare hit 20 wides means they have booked their place in the final and made their pre-match price of 5/2 look very generous indeed.
However while it was a surprise result in Offaly, the biggest shock was for one of the umpires, whoo seemed to get quite a fright after awarding a 45.
