Roscommon manager Fergal O’Donnell has not altered his team for the Connacht football final with Mayo this Sunday.
It’s the same 15 players who started against Leitrim in the provincial semi-final and wing-forward Cathal Cregg has spoken of his desire to get one over their rivals in Hyde Park.
“We try not to get bogged down in [being defending champions]” he told the Indo.
“[Mayo] are consistently in Division 1 over the last couple of years so we know we’re up against a pretty stiff test. You couldn’t read a lot into their performance against London but I was very impressed with their second-half performance against Galway.”
The last time these two counties met in the championship, Mayo walloped their neighbours by 20 points in 2009.
The Mayo team is expected to be announced later today.
Roscommon (Connacht SFC final v Mayo): G Claffey; S McDermott, N Carty, S Ormsby; D Keenan, P Domican, D Ward; M Finneran, K Mannion; S O’Grady, K Higgins, C Cregg; C Devaney, S Kilbride, D Shine
