It’s hard to sum up a game like Kilkenny’s victory over Limerick yesterday in three and a half minutes, but The Sunday Game did a pretty good job of it last night.

In a championship full of enthralling games, yesterday’s All-Ireland semi-final between Kilkenny and Limerick was arguably the most gripping of the lot as the two sides played out a fascinating contest in horrendous conditions at Croke Park. Despite rain showers that were almost biblical at times, the Cats and the men from the Treaty County engaged in a battle that was full of determination, heart, spirit and no little skill, with Brian Cody’s men emerging as narrow winners to book their place in next month’s All-Ireland Final. Combining slo-mo footage of the action with an appropriate backing track and contributions from Brian Cody, Brian Hogan, Richie Hogan and an incredibly magnanimous TJ Ryan, what was a truly epic encounter was fittingly summed up in a fantastic montage on The Sunday Game, which succeeded in doing justice to one of the games of the season so far.
