Look what going off the beer for six months did for Zero Dark Thirty star Chris Pratt

If, like us, you had an adult beverage or two over the weekend, this might inspire you to knock the sauce on the head for six months. Actor Chris Pratt is best known as Andy from the superb sitcom Parks and Recreation but you will probably recognise his face from lots of other stuff like Zero Dark Thirty, The Five-Year Engagement and Movie 43. Pratt tended to play the slightly overweight dude in films, and on Parks, and we assumed that he would stay like that for the rest of his acting career. But it seems a role in the upcoming Marvel superhero flick Guardians of the Galaxy has inspired the actor to get into shape. Serious shape. The actor posted this picture on Instagram last night, claiming that six months off beer did the trick. We suspect there was a hell of a lot more to it than that. In the movie, set for release next year, Pratt will play Star-Lord, the leader of the GOTG, an Avengers-esque flick that will also star Zoe Saldana and Benicio Del Toro. And just in case you are wondering quite what a transformation Pratt has undergone in the last six months, somebody on Reddit has cut together a before and after shot. Impressive...
