One of the coolest creations that man has thought of, but never actually invented, has got to be the hover skateboard from Back To The Future. While the hover-skateboard is just a half-pipe dream (for now), this hover-bike is the real deal…

This bike might look like it has come directly out of the movie E.T. but judging by the lack of a mini extra-terrestrial riding in the front basket, we can safely say there’s nothing weird going on. The bike was actually created by several Czech companies who have collaborated to create the world’s first hover-bike… although, we’re not sure why.

It seems like a bit of a waste having the two wheels, seeing as they don’t really do anything, but then again, it wouldn’t be a bike without them. Two massive fans located at the front and back propel the hover-bike and also help to steer it.

If that’s isn’t rock ‘n’ roll enough for you crazy kids, there’s always this: A jet engine powered bicycle… yeah.

The jet engine bike was built by 32-year-old plumber Colin Furze who managed to get the bike up to a whopping 80km/h. That’s faster than your mother would ever dare to go on a motorway…
