Video: The dangers of working with metal sheets in high winds

High winds can make any form of outdoor manual labour hazardous, but it gets really freaky when there are metal sheets flying around the place at frightening speeds.

High winds can make any form of outdoor manual labour hazardous, but it gets really freaky when there are metal sheets flying around the place at frightening speeds.

We seem to be over the worst of the gale-force breezes that hit Ireland a couple of weeks ago and – as is the case with any form of weather extreme in this country – shocked us all into a state of mild hysteria for a few days.

It seems that they still have to put it up with it in Russia, however, which is where this footage of what could have been a disastrous accident for a couple of factory workers emerged in recent days.

Two of the workers in question lost control of a trolley bearing a number of metal sheets and all they could do subsequently was run and try to hide as the metal sheets took flight and nearly took the heads off the terrified factory employees.

The Jaws soundtrack makes the clip appear a little scarier than it might appear but it still frightened the sh*t out of us.
