£200k recruitment consultant sacked for telling 4,000 people to 'F**k off'
Manchester-based recruitment consultant Gary Chaplin has been fired from his £200k per yaer job after telling 4,000 jobseekers to 'F**k off' in an accidental email reply.
According to The Sun, Mr Chaplin received a mass-mailed enquiry from jobseeker Mano Katsampoukas and sent a foul-mouted email reply - without realising that he had accidentally sent it to the 4,000 employment leads that Katsampoukas had contacted.
Although it's difficult to ascertain what incensed Mr Chaplin over the polite CV from Katsampoukas, who was looking for a finance role, the recruitment executive fired back a reply that he said spoke for "all the 4,000 people you have emailed":
"Please f**k off - you are too stupid to get a job, even in banking." Not yet done, a subsequent tirade followed, with Mr Chaplin finally ending the email by writing: "Yours hitting the delete button Have a nice day!"
'I am mortified by what I did … It was a moment of idiocy," he told the tabloid.
"I am now looking for a job just a few days before Christmas. If I could turn back the clock, I would. I will regret this forever."
