Have you stumbled across Coke’s latest advert yet? You know the one where a bunch of excited students hug a vending machine until a nice, cold bottle of coke pops out?
Yeah…you know what we’re talking about…
Basically the folks at Coke thought it’d be interesting to see if people would be willing to hug an inanimate object in exchange for a free bottle of the mercilessly-addictive beverage. Obviously people would do this. Actually, we’d be first in line. The majority of humans have no problem getting up, close and personal with a bit of machinery, just as long as they get something in return.
Anyway, the advert is supposed to show the world how amazing Coke is and how happy it makes everyone. The screen fades to red and the slogan ‘open happiness’ appears. Aw. How lovely.
Now, if there’s one thing we love more than a nice, cold can of Coke, it’s when someone takes an otherwise lovely advert and turns it into something hilariously offensive.
Case in point? Cast your eyes above to the current ‘remake’ of the Coke ad that has sprung forth on YouTube in retaliation to all this damn ‘happiness’ that coke is trying to ‘open.’
Chances are if we saw this Coke vending machine, we wouldn’t want to ‘open happiness’ with a sweet liquidy substance. We’d probably want to ‘open a can of whoop ass’ on whoever put the machine in our line of sight.
The premise is simple, but effective. It’s the same Coke advert, with the same surroundings and the same people, only instead of saying ‘Hug Me’ the vending machine has been giving a more…offensive makeover.
Yes, this coke vending machine is tired of friendly hugs. Instead it wants you to…well…y’know…in exchange for a bottle of Coke.
‘F**k Me’ is emblazoned across the front of the vending machine, but clearly this doesn’t bother the people in the advert who are more than happy to fling themselves at it and embrace it.
If only they knew what that filthy thing was thinking…
