Argentina introduces vending machine that only works if you rugby tackle it
Let's face it; we've all tackled a vending machine at some point or another when it fails to deliver our purchase, yet one beer brand in Argentina has decided to go a little further.
Described as "Rugbeer" in their latest advertising campaign, Salta beer is popular with rugby fans in the South American brand has decided to go one step further. Here's the official explanation:
"Argentina is the country with the most football fans in the world. But in the north, in the Salta province, the New Zealand of Argentina, everybody loves rugby. That´s why Salta beer wanted to make rugby fans live a unique experience.
"The Rugbeer Machine by Salta Beer. The first ever vending machine that gives rugby players what they want most for doing what they do best. One cold Salta Beer per tackle."
As crazy as it sounds, the machine will only serve you beer if you tackle the machine hard enough - as it has an in-built sensor to assess the impact.
Tackle the machine too weakly and no beer for you - even when you've just paid for it. Since being installed in various venues across Argentina, Salta has reported an increase of 25 per cent in profit and once you see the advert above, you won't be surprised.
The vending machine isn't the first of its kind, however, as Coca-Cola have previously created "huggable" machines, though we find this method of procuring a drink a lot more interesting.
