In one of the most bizarre ‘staging your own funeral’ stories we have come across today, one Chinese student decided to come back from the dead…or so everyone thought.
By Declan Whooley
Be it vanity, loneliness, or the presence of some form of drug, Zeng Jia decided to stage her own funeral so she could see what people think of her and to “enjoy it”.
While we can understand the first part, we struggle to see how she could enjoy it, but everyone to their own. And the lengths she went to were impressive/ridiculous. Or whatever word you think is appropriate.
The 22 year-old paid for the elaborate service which included flowers, photographers and make-up artists to make her appear more like a dead body. Not only that, she even lay motionless in the coffin for an hour as mourners paid what they thought were their last respects.
“Experiencing death has made me appreciate life more keenly,” she said afterwards.
Suddenly we feel like our sanity levels have risen dramatically by just doing nothing at all.
