JOE.ie's younger sister, Her.ie, has arrived
The day has finally arrived when JOE.ie became extremely over-protective of its younger, extremely glam sister – Her.ie has launched.
As you’ve no doubt learned in the two years since JOE has launched, we at the site love all things manly; be it bacon, explosions, Liam Neeson or deleting our internet browsing history for obvious reasons when the other half walks in.
However, the JOE workforce has had to cope with an unusual development which descended upon our Merrion Square office a couple of months ago – wimmins, and lots of them.
That’s right; over the past two months the fragrant lady journalists (“Hernalists”, as they will probably never again be referred to as after this article...) of Her.ie have been beavering away like semi-aquatic rodents, putting together a wealth of articles for JOE’s younger sister.
After all their hard work, we're proud to say that the Her.ie went live earlier this week and will be celebrated in style with an extravagant launch party in La Stampa in Dublin City Centre tonight from 7.30pm. Expect celebs, flowing champagne and a series of hangover-induced typos from tomorrow morning’s news pieces.
So what is Her.ie and is it worth a visit for rugged, bean-devouring, beard-stroking Irish men everywhere? As the site’s editor Mary McGill - pictured above alongside JOE founder Niall McGarry - writes: “We want to create a website that reflects and is influenced by our readers and we look forward to having the mother of all chats with you in the weeks, months and hopefully years ahead.”
So though Her.ie’s writers are forbidden from eating Yorkies in our presence, we have been assured that their output will be just as inclusive as ours, albeit with an unsurprising focus on the chest of Hugh Jackman rather than Georgia Salpa.
If you haven’t yet cast a fond eye over Her.ie (easy lads, that’s our sister you're gawping at…) there’s no better time than today’s launch – especially since it may not be too late to wrangle a couple of tickets to the exclusive party later tonight over on our Facebook page.
