Is Donald Trump a bell end? UK writer and TV personality Charlie Brooker reckons so and now he's even got the insult trending worldwide.

We're big fans of Screenwipe presenter and The Guardian writer Charlie Brooker here in the JOE office - even if Channel 4's The 10 O' Clock show is, ahem, pontificating garbage - so when we checked our Twitter feed and found that he was attempting to get #donaldtrumpisabellend trending worldwide, we admired his ambition.

Billionaire Trump attracted plenty of criticism yesterday after his potential US presidential bid achieved new heights. The reality TV star had won huge Republican support by latching onto the 'Birther' controversy - the belief that Obama should produce his long-form birth certificate and prove that he is a US citizen. Yesterday, Obama finally did, making a mockery of the whole issue, which he described as 'silly'.

After confessing that he had suspicions over the issue and admitting he had even sent an investigative team to Obama's hometown in Hawaii to look into the subject, did Trump apologise after being proved wrong? Quite the opposite - the US Apprentice star said he was 'proud' that he was the person that got Obama to produce the evidence.

Since the birth certificate was produced, Obama supporters have cheekily announced that they are 'Combers' and want to know the truth behind Trump's elaborate possible comb-over hairdo. Brooker, however, had less lofty goals - he wanted #donaldtrumpisabellent to trend worldwide and with the help of his 290,000+ followers, achieved that goal in less than 12 hours. Immature? Yes, but strangely worthwhile.
