The Triplet: Olympic drama, dubstep and Canadian crime

10/07/2012 3:10 pm

It’s time for the Daily Triplet. For your sport-music-viral delectation today, one of the most memorable Olympic moments, music from Flux Pavilion and bad-ass Canadian bandits.

The Greg Louganis drama, Seoul 1988

The London Olympics are just over two weeks away so the Triplet sports video will consist primarily of legendary Olympic moments over the next while. Today, a short film recounting the Greg Louganis story of 24 years ago, when the American diver recovered from cracking his head on the springboard to take gold – one of four Olympic gold medals he won during an exceptional career.

Flux Pavilion feat. Example – “Daydreamer”

Described as a one-man orchestra, Joshua Steele, a.k.a. Flux Pavilion (pictured top), will be bringing his vocal and multi-instrument dubstep extravaganza to The Academy, Dublin on October 21st next.

Tickets, priced €26.50 go on sale this Friday, July 13th from Ticketmaster outlets nationwide and Ticketmaster.ie.

Hard-hitting investigative crime journalism, Canada-style

When young people get wasted here they stab each other with broken bottles or go missing for two days. In Canada they burgle bags of crisps. And you get the feeling this newsreel from CTV is only partly humorous.
