Today's Triplet: Binocular football and Seanie Johnston doing what he does best (no, not hurling)

04/07/2012 12:00 pm

Given everything that's gone on, it's easy to forget that Seanie Johnston can actually play football, something that can't be said for the poor Japanese lads wearing binoculars over their heads in our classic viral clip.

Sporting Pick: Seanie Johnston doing what he does best (no, not hurling)

In the midst of all that’s gone on in the Seanie Johnston transfer saga already this year, it’s easy to forget that when he does eventually tog out for Kildare, the Lilywhites have quite the footballer on their hands.

This clip of Johnston making a major contribution to Cavan’s victory over Wicklow in the qualifiers two summers ago with a few outrageous points mightn’t make easy viewing for Breffni followers fearing something similar from Seanie on Sunday week, but it does show that he might turn out to be worth all the fuss in the end.

Daily Download: Bruce Springsteen – 'We take care of our own'

It’s less than a fortnight till the Boss comes to the RDS and this track, taken from his latest album Wrecking Ball, shows that he’s still producing the goods nearly 40 years after first coming to worldwide prominence.

Viral Clip: Bonkers binocular football

Ever wondered what it’s like to play football with binoculars attached to your head? The answer is almost certainly no, but you will after watching this classic clip from those bastions of crazy over on Japanese television.

It’s an oldie, but it’s definitely a goodie and it will help all those still lamenting the end of the Euros satisfy their football fix.
