A hangry woman is suing KFC for £16m over a bucket of chicken

Ben Kenyon

You know what you get like when you’re hungry and angry? Hangry, obviously.

It takes very little to tip people over the edge when they’re ravenous and you then piss them off.

Well it seems KFC have done just that to a hungry US customer who had popped in to buy some of their famous chicken.

Seemingly enticed in by mouth-watering images of the Colonel’s secret-recipe chicken overflowing from a bucket, Anna Wurtzburger just had to treat herself. It’s finger lickin’ good, after all.

She ordered a $20 family bucket of the stuff and then headed home to tuck in.

But when she cracked it open, she claims that her family bucket wasn’t quite overflowing with pieces of crispy Southern-fried chicken like on the promo pictures.

Quite the opposite. She claims her bucket was only half full… and she was pretty pissed about it.

“I came home and said, ‘Where’s the chicken?’ I thought I was going to have a couple of meals,” the 64-year-old said, according to The New York Post.

“They say it feeds the whole family, they’re showing a bucket that’s overflowing with chicken.

“You get half a bucket. That’s false advertising, and it doesn’t feed the whole family. They’re small pieces!”

She was so pissed off she apparently rang KFC headquarters to demand answers. She was told the chicken was made to flow out of the bucket ‘so that the public could see the chicken’, according to The Post.

“If you want the public to look at your chicken, put it in a dish. It’s a lot of BS. … I expect to get what you’re telling me.”

So now she’s hired a lawyer and she wants $20 million in damages for ‘false advertising’, which comes to more than £16,000,000.

However KFC have said, ‘These claims are meritless and we will be asking the court to dismiss this case.’
