Kitchen Disasters: When deep fat frying goes wrong...
Some people think that the quickest and easiest way to cook something is by dumping it in a pot of hot oil, but things can quickly go wrong if you don't know what you're doing.

Some people think that the quickest and easiest way to cook something is by dumping it in a pot of hot oil, but things can quickly go wrong if you don't know what you're doing.

Cooking disasters don’t just happen inside the kitchen. It’s no surprise that some people over in the US love to deep fry whole chickens and turkeys, and here we see why it’s best to leave the more adventurous cooking techniques to the professionals.

The first thing that the group of friends do wrong is they let the oil get too hot and it catches fire. However, they obviously think that this will somehow give a nice flame grilled flavour to their deep fried bird. Word of warning, if you’re pot of oil starts to catch fire, get the extinguisher.

Instead of giving the bird a nice flame grilled taste, the flaming oil practically incinerates the thing. It also nearly sets the outside of the house on fire.

So, the next time that you decide to mess around out the back garden with a pot of flaming oil and a defrosted turkey, do us, and yourself, a favour and just don’t do it.

You’re much better off picking up your laptop and just ordering your favourite cuisine from Just-Eat.ie and let the pros do the hard work.
