More Paralympic gold for Mark Rohan
07/09/2012 12:31 pm
The Westmeath man has landed his second gold medal of the Games, this time in the handcycle road race event.
As you will know if you read our interview with him earlier this week, Mark Rohan is an incredible athlete. The former GAA player was paralysed from the chest down in a motorcycle accident in 2001 but he turned to hand cycling as his new sport and he has made it to the very top of his sport.
Already a world champion, Mark won the individual H1 time trial on Wednesday and today he has just claimed his second gold, in the road race event.
The good times continue to roll for Ireland at the Paralympics and we have sprinter Jason Smyth in pursuit of his second gold later tonight.
Congrats to Mark and best of luck to Jason later.
