Thirteenth time lucky? Cork man fails driving test for twelfth time

20/07/2012 7:55 am

Ray Heffernan from Mayfield in Co. Cork recently took his driving test for the twelfth time, only to clock up 26 error marks. Needless to say he failed miserably.

It’s bad enough failing your driving test twelve consecutive times, but it must feel like salt has been poured in the wound for poor Ray Heffernan after he was labelled as ‘Ireland’s worst driver’ by the morning papers.

The failure happened yesterday afternoon when Ray, 63, took his test with an RSA appointed regional supervisor. Ray is said to be fuming after the decision not to give him the pink licence as he claims that his driving was perfect.

However, it wasn’t. Ray didn’t score any grade three faults, which are the most serious, but he did score 14 grade two faults and 12 grade one faults. So as you can see, he was a little less than perfect.

According to the man himself, he stopped at every light, didn’t make any mistakes on any of the roundabouts and he moved off properly when he had to.

Despite failing his test for the twelfth time, Ray has been driving for the past 45 years – obviously taking advantage of the ‘second provisional licence’ loophole – and he has never been involved in a single road accident.

So, will it be thirteenth time lucky for Ray? Watch this space…

But that does not mean he has not caused accidents, watch the streets every day people do not know how to park, they just will not practice a couple of hours a week on there own, reversing going forward, just stay in a foot from the center line and you just keep an eye on the left.I have everything on my Licence except the artic which i failed twice, the last time i did the test in the artic i was coming up to the lights and they went orange and i welded the truck to the road,if i was on my own i would have put the boot down and sailed through the lights.I have the name DESGTI because i was caught doing 109 mph and walked out of court with my licence, mind you the judge made my bank account very light. If the boys in Blue were a quarter of a mile down the road further they would definetly have got me for 125mph plus, and the car a GOLF GTI
