During the second race at the Carrera Cup Series at Sandown Raceway in Australia, a massive crash on the first corner saw one racer’s engine being ripped clean from the back of his Porsche 911.

The incident occurred after Sonic teammates Nick Foster and Nick McBride accidentally hit into each other while battling it out for sixth place. The collision sent McBride into a spin and right into the path of the ensuing pack.

Team BRM driver Duvashen Padayachee then crashed into the back of McBride ripping his engine and gearbox right from the back of the Porsche. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured in the incident and the race was called off following the crash.

The Porsche crash above wasn’t the only big crash of the weekend at Sandown, as Erebus Motorsport driver Lee Holdsworth managed to survive this horrific looking crash thanks to his Mercedes V8 Super Car’s carbon fibre safety shell. Check it out…
