Petter Solberg crashed out of the French Rally yesterday in a manner befitting a cartoon. Thankfully, nobody was hurt either.
In countless cartoons and movies we have seen cars drive into cornfields or other crops and hilarity ensues. But we never thought we would see someone drive through some vineyards at the highest level of motorsport. But we have.
Norway’s Petter Solberg is one of the world’s best rally drivers, and he won the world championship nine years ago. But Solberg proved just how hard his job is by crashing through not one, but two vineyards yesterday before a telegraph pole brought him to a very sudden stop.
The video above is the best view of the crash but the in-car footage below is pretty good too. We love how calm the co-driver is as the car careers through tree after tree. They are very, very brave men.
