Here we have a video of a motorcyclist who was racing in the Rally West Virginia when he was rudely interrupted by a prancing deer. Don't worry though, no-one was killed.
Last weekend saw the Rally West Virginia take place and it includes 300 miles of seriously gruelling endurance racing. The rider above was cruising along the final stage of the rally when something jumped out in front of him from the right.
In fairness to the rider, there wasn’t much time to react and before he knew it he was ploughing right into the side of a deer. You can’t see poor Bambi when the rider gets back on his feet so we can safely assume that he pranced off into the forest (where he was probably shot by a hunter).
Thankfully nothing was killed in the crash and according to Jalopnik, the rider, Braden Childers, managed to finish second in the stage. So fair play to him for that.
In case you’re wondering the road was fully closed off to the public, which means you’re allowed to cross over the yellow lines. Just before anyone gets Gay Byrne or Conor Faughnan on the phone.
