Video: Changing your car's battery
This week, the motoring experts over at MicksGarage.com will show you how to change the battery in your car. It's not that hard, once you know what you're doing.
Once again we see Rob from MicksGarage.com showing us how to do a spot of good old fashion DIY on your motor. This week we’re taking a look at changing your car’s battery and it’s honestly not that tricky once you follow Rob’s simple instructions.
As you’ll see above, a good precaution to take when changing a battery is to take the keys out of the ignition, roll down the window and open the door. Why? Well, once you disconnect the battery your central locking safety switch might kick in and you will then have to smash through your car’s window to get your keys back.
Thankfully, you won’t have to do that if you listen to Rob. His second tip, which is actually quite genius if we do say so ourselves, is to take a picture on your phone of the position of the battery clips. This way you’ll know exactly what position they should be in when it’s time to connect everything back up. It’s the simple things that can make a big difference!
All you need is a pair of gloves, a ten-millimetre spanner and a new battery, which you can pick up online over at MicksGarage.com.
