While there was some initial worry, it all became clear soon enough.

The Twitter account of Jack Black's band, Tenacious D, tweeted that the musician and actor died this morning but this is the result of a hack, not a tragedy. According to John Konesky, a grammy award winning guitarist connected to the band having performed on a number of their albums, the account has been hacked and the band are currently trying to fix it. https://twitter.com/JKonesky/status/739414863513067520 Thank God it isn't true, but there were doubts about the veracity of the tweets already on account of the spelling and grammar as well as the fact that Jack Black was in Diplo's snapchat story mere hours ago. https://twitter.com/catherinebouris/status/739406256922730496 Then the account tweeted again and revealed the identity of the hacker. https://twitter.com/RealTenaciousD/status/739424214852218880 https://twitter.com/RealTenaciousD/status/739423814505922560 https://twitter.com/RealTenaciousD/status/739425547516809216 https://twitter.com/Ruthless/status/739427934667190272 In case you missed them earlier, the tweets read: “I’m sad to officially announce the death of Jack Black at the age of 46, rest in peace brother.” It was followed up with two more tweets: “It is with a heavy heart I am to announce that Jack Black passed away last night at 3:37am. The cause of death is yet unknown.” "#RIPJackBlack." https://twitter.com/RealTenaciousD/status/739381184040472576 https://twitter.com/RealTenaciousD/status/739386131968602112 https://twitter.com/RealTenaciousD/status/739403908309716993 This looks like it's been one big joke, made in poor taste.
