Irish and proud.
This weekend was a magnificent celebration of Irish history as the 1916 centenary was a resounding success with a variety of tributes taking place around the country.
Poetry,
music, the
Irish Air Corps and our own
biographies of the key figures involved were just some of the tributes paid but RTÉ arguably saved their best broadcast until last.
Centenary took place in the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre last night as the it story of modern Ireland was told through music, dance and song.
Imelda May, Jack L, Gavin James, The High Kings, Colm Wilkinson and Danny O’Reilly were just some of the acts that took part and the show was met by universal love from the Irish public.
Take a look.
