In three words, he's... Dedicated, honourable, winner.
Why he's a TV great: There's a point in Suits when you realise that the show is almost the equivalent of a James Bond or Jason Bourne film, the only difference is that it's set in the legal world. Yes there's a degree of risk, beautiful women and twists on offer but you always know that the hero is going to win.
If this is the case, then why is it that people are glued to their TV sets every week to see what goes on at Pearson-Hardman- Specter- Cornelius- JOE (that place changes names more often than P. Diddy)
It's the characters that keep you coming back and no one is more popular than the senior partner who can inspire witnesses, bully CEOs and charm the opposing counsel into bed.
Harvey is confident, cocky and will do anything to win but that doesn't mean that he's prepared to break his strict moral code. On those rare moments when he's about to step over the line, his young protege Mike Ross is on hand to challenge the smooth talking and scotch drinking enigma.
I'd imagine that quite a few women are fans of his - he has that whole brash, conflicted and whip-smart thing going on - but the strength of Suits lies in the dynamics between the characters. Not to ruin anything but the back-and-forth that he has with Donna is superb and there's a smug satisfaction whenever Harvey put Louis back in his place.
His best quote: "I don't play the odds, I play the man".
If we could put him in any other show: He wins every case, has a wild streak and can deliver some great one liners. I say the TV gods should team him up with Saul from 'Better Call Saul' for their own spin-off show.
His best scene: He's usually slick, smooth and suave so this memorable moment when he's as high as a giraffe's neck is pretty good.
