Chiwetel Ejiofor lined up to play the next Bond baddie opposite Daniel Craig

The '12 Years A Slave' actor will join the team behind 'Skyfall.'

Chiwetel Ejiofor is set to follow in the footsteps of Javier Bardem by taking on James Bond in Bond 24.

The English actor, nominated for an Oscar for ’12 Years A Slave,’ will play the antagonist to Daniel Craig’s Bond as Sam Mendes once again sits in the director’s chair.

While no offer has yet been made to Ejiofor, Bond producers favour a strong presence in the ‘villain’ role and Ejiofor would fill that role given the plaudits he earned for Steve McQueen’s Oscar-winning drama about slavery.

Bardem put in a memorable performance in the popular ‘Skyfall’ as the deformed villain Silva.
