Hold on; they’re going to make a Baywatch spin-off movie and John Cleese will play the bad guy

'The B Team' can't be anything but fantastically awful, right? We can't wait.

‘The B Team’ can’t be anything but fantastically awful, right? We can’t wait.

Hot on the heels of the Monty Python live shows we sort of hoped that John Cleese would maybe convince the rest of the team to make a new movie. The good news is that Cleese is making a new film with the cast of one of our all-time favourite shows, but it isn’t Python.

Instead, according to reports in the Guardian, Cleese will soon play a ‘nuclear weapon-toting villain’ in a Baywatch spin-off movie that isn’t legally allowed to mention Baywatch.

Yes, a film called ‘The B Team’ is headed your way starring David ‘The Hoff’ Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson and Alexandra Paul and while the red bathing suits and the beaches will all feature, the B word won’t.

The premise for the movie, written by Paul with fellow former Baywatch cast member Jason Simmons, is a little bizarre to say the least.

“The B Team is an action comedy with some reality thrown in. We play ourselves, so the audience might not know what is true-to-life and what is made up for the movie. And that is exactly what we want. Were we really agents for the US government during our heyday? The CIA has used famous people as spies before.

“This movie is about taking the piss out of ourselves and going behind that one-dimensional image people have of actors they see on TV. We play ourselves so there are going to be assumptions the television show in question is the one we actually all were on. But no, it most definitely is not. It is not. Not. Shall I say that again?”

We know this sounds terrible, but we will definitely have to go and see it, just to be sure.
