Pic: The Millennium Falcon looks like it will definitely feature in Star Wars: Episode VII

Paul Moore

This could be the luckiest spoiler reveal ever…

JOE has been keeping an eagle eye on all things Star Wars since the new instalments were announced but this latest update isn’t due to some amazing journalism, an on set leak or someone using the Jedi mind trick.

A local English pilot named Matthew Myatt was taking publicity shots for a flying school when he returned with this  snap of Han Solo’s own flying bucket The Millennium Falcon.

The picture, taken above Greenham Common which is a former RAF airbase, appears to show a partly-built Millennium Falcon and also an X-Wing fighter beside it.

The partially completed ship doesn’t look like it can make the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs right now but we’re still unbelievably happy.

Speaking with the BBC about the pictures he said, “It wasn’t until I got back last night and started going through the images that it just jumped out at me. I was quite stunned. It was like, ‘wow’. That’s how the picture came about, purely by luck.

“I had to go and grab my son who’s a big Star Wars fan and get him to come and look at the picture and pinch me and make sure I’d seen what I’d seen”.

We are absolutely delighted to see our favourite spaceship make a return in the J.J Abrams film and we’re even happier to see that the director is using an old school approach by building an actual model.

Star Wars has been filming at Pinewood Studios since May but parts of it have also been shot in Abu Dhabi and on our own Skellig Michael.
