Having just recently watched Zoolander for the 2,437 time over the weekend, JOE can safely say that it still ranks amongst the greatest comedy films ever.
Gasoline fights, dance-offs and an advert featuring the worlds greatest merman are just some of the moments that cracked us up and it looks like we are about to visit the world of male modelling once again.
Script re-writes, scheduling issues and other Hollywood gremlins have delayed any potential sequel (we really hope they call it Twolander) so far, but according to Justin Theroux, who has been attached to direct since 2010, it might finally be coming together.
“We’ve got a script for the sequel, and we’ve just been in talks again,” Theroux told Vulture. “We’re trying to sharpen it and hone it and, actually, I don’t want to jinx anything, but it looks like it actually might be starting to get up and running.”
Ah, you just jinxed it, Justin. You know you did.
It seems that Ben Stiller will be calling the shots again, according to Mr Jennifer Aniston (Theroux).
The sequel’s plot, still apparently set 10 years after the events of the original, finds Stiller’s Zoolander and Owen Wilson’s Hansel rejected by the fashion industry after they age out of the sweet spot for male models and must struggle to once again make their names.
All we can say is please god let this happen.
