After parking the filming for Fast & Furious 7 following the tragic death of actor and all-round nice guy Paul Walker, director James Wan has revealed that filming for the latest installment of the phenomenally successful franchise is now back up and running in Abu Dhabi.

The latest film, which had to be reworked and rewritten for obvious reasons, stars series regulars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson and Michelle Rodriguez as they go up against the eternally-youthful and perpetually-bestubbled Jason Statham as Ian Shaw; a mad man with a penchant for manly motors, who just happens to be out to avenge the death of his brother Owen (Luke Evans) following the events of Fast & Furious 6.
Hollywood hero Kurt Russell will also make a welcome appearance but, according to Empire, there is still no official word from Universal as to how they will deal with Paul Walker’s character Brian, with talk of body doubles and the use of CG effects being rumoured currently.
Either way, it’s great news for fans of the series and, here at JOE HQ, we wish them the very best of luck, especially considering how difficult it must be for all of the Fast & Furious family to get back to work following the passing of Walker.
