Matt Damon ties up Jimmy Kimmel and takes over his talk show to reveal Kimmel’s hidden past as an actor
By Genna Patterson
On Jimmy Kimmel last night, Matt Damon finally got his revenge on his nemesis. Kimmel has for years been signing off his show by saying that he didn’t have time to bring on Matt Damon. Apparently the joke began one night when Kimmel had a pretty bad line up of guests and he joked that unfortunately they didn’t have time for Matt Damon.
The joke escalated, with Kimmel repeating it every night, and then finally Matt Damon did come on the show. When he did, Kimmel spent so long introducing Matt Damon that he ran out of time. Damon then threw a strop, as you can see in the video below.
Finally Matt Damon has gotten his revenge though. The actor tied up Kimmel (seen in the background) and took over the hosting duties instead. He also explained the reason Kimmel has such a problem with him – he wants to be an actor and Matt Damon has beat him for every role he ever auditioned for.
Damon then proceeds to show the audition tapes for Kimmel, all of which are, expectedly terrible. Featuring Emily Blunt, Greg Kinnear and Matt Damon himself, the auditions comprise of films Stuck on You, The Adjustment Bureau, Happy Feet and The Bourne Ultimatum, even Damon’s breakthrough role in Goodwill Hunting.
Damon also had Kimmel’s ex-girlfriend Sarah Silverman on to talk about their relationship, Sheryl Crow for music, while Robin Williams helped him with his opening monologue. He interviewed Gary Oldman, Nicole Kidman and Amy Adams also.
Ben Affleck popped in to help with the autocue too, but couldn't help hiding his feelings of love for Jimmy. Affleck once starred in a music video with Kimmel called 'I'm f*cking Ben Affleck,' in response to Kimmel's girlfriend Sarah Silverman and Matt Damon's video 'I'm f*cking Matt Damon.'
