Video: This three-minute peek at Sharknado 2 confirms it’s going to be even more ridiculous than Sharknado 1

Honestly, this makes Snakes on a Plane look like The Shawshank Redemption, it’s that ridiculous.

Honestly, this makes Snakes on a Plane look like The Shawshank Redemption, it’s that ridiculous.

And that, by the way, is no bad thing because as soon as you’re willing to accept that Sharknado 2: The Second One (originality is not one of this film’s strong points) will contain some of the worst acting, most cheesy dialogue and most ridiculous plot-lines in film history, then it promises to be a whole lot of fun.

The sequel is set in New York City, where it seems, the freak and terrifying combination of man-eating sharks and frightful weather conditions have been unleashed upon the city’s subway lines and woe betide anyone that gets in their way.

Ian Ziering – you probably remember him from Beverly Hills 90210 – Tara Reid and WWE legend Kurt Angle star in the sequel, which will be shown on Syfy in the States next month and we imagine will be available to view on this side of the world shortly afterwards. It’s not going to win any Oscars or anything but we really can’t wait.

And, in case you didn’t know, a third episode in the series has already been given the green light. Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water… or on land… or in the air… we’re confused.
