Just one more reason to look forward to Christmas…
The people behind Hot Tub Time Machine were never going to go wrong with a title like that and as long as you were willing to leave any modicum of common sense at the door, the 2010 flick was an awful lot of fun to watch.
As we can see for the first red band trailer for the follow-up, all of the main cast, apart from John Cusack, are back for the sequel, which follows the bulletproof template established by Back to the Future insisting that if you’re going to make a movie with a time machine in it, the sequel absolutely must be set in the future.
This time around, the gang try to go back in time to prevent Lou’s murder (it will make more sense when you watch the trailer) but instead end up in 2024 and time has not been kind to our heroes, who partake in the same sort of drunken shenanigans that made the original so enjoyable in the first place.
Adam Scott (Step Brothers, Parks and Recreation) is a more than decent replacement for Cusack and with Chevy Chase also making a welcome return, Hot Tub Time Machine 2 is shaping up very well ahead of a release on this side of the world for the festive season. We can’t wait.
