Spotify today released details of their annual Year in Music to reflect what the world was listening to in 2015.
Not surprisingly, it was a good year for Ed Sheeran, who was named in the Top 5 Global Artists and named as The Top Artist in the UK, while it was also revealed that he has overtaken Eminem as the most streamed artist on Spotify of all time.
He’s not even 25 for God’s sake!
Major Lazer’s Lean On (feat. MØ & DJ Snake) was the most popular track globally, ahead of Cheerleader, Uptown Funk, See You Again and Love Me Like You Do.
From an Irish perspective, meanwhile, Hozier will be glad to know that Take me to Church was one of the top five tracks in the UK this year.
