Irish people are getting more sex than ever according to a new survey by Durex and it’s the ladies over 65 that have the best sex-lives apparently.

This follows on from a Newstalk survey that Oisin Collins covered during the week. With two new surveys on sex this week alone that means that at the very last Irish people are thinking about sex more than ever.

The survey says  that sixty-six percent of people are having sex once a week, but only half are enjoying the full pleasures of the act, which worryingly makes us wonder is the half is split by gender or not, which if true should probably have Irish men worried as to their bilities in bed...

It seems the country's older ladies are leading the way in the countries sexual revolution.

Irish women over 65 are more likely to climax than their younger counterparts and indeed more likely to have regular orgasms than women in any other country in the world showing that the Celtic Cub generation of women have nothing on the Celtic Cougars.

Apparently forty six percent of women of a pension age climax regularly, which still trails men aged 35 to 49 who are the most satisfied  demographic with eighty three percent having regular orgasms.

Overall only seventeen percent of Irish people regularly go unsatisfied while we also fourth in the world for condom use with seventy percent saying they used one last time they had sex.

Considering condoms were only made legal in the Republic of Ireland with strong restrictions in 1980 that’s fairly good going.
