Extra caution urged after heavy snow falls along east coast
Heavy overnight snow on the east coast last night has led to drivers being urged to exercise extreme caution
on the roads today, while hundreds of schools are expected to be closed for the second day running.
The Gardaà are urging drivers to only travel if absolute necessary, while anyone travelling on public transport has been advised to check the travel company's website before heading out.
The majority of Bus Eireann, Dublin Bus, Irish Rail and Dublin Airport journeys are currently running normally, though some routes are being either delayed or diverted.
Met Eireann has warned that the wet, wintry conditions are to continue during the day, overnight, and through tomorrow. The worst affected roads are thought to be on the east coast, in Kildare, Dublin and Wicklow.
