Kilkenny to attempt to break 'Rock the Boat' record

It may be one of the most annoying songs on the 21st or wedding playlist but the Hue Corporation hit ‘Rock the Boat’ could bring glory to Ireland later today.

It may be one of the most annoying songs on the 21st or wedding playlist but the Hue Corporation hit ‘Rock the Boat’ could bring glory to Ireland later today.
The song and performance, which requires participants to sit in a row and sway side-to-side singing the lyrics has long been a cheesy staple of any corny disk-jockey’s repertoire.
Today thousands of people in Kilkenny will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most people ever to take part in a performance of ‘Rock the Boat.’
The bid takes place as part of the ten-day Abhainn Rí Festival in Kilkenny and will kick off at around 3 O’Clock today.
They’re also raising funds or the Crumlin Children’s Hospital so it’s all for a good cause.
Following Ireland’s summer disappointments in the European Championships and rugby tour of New Zealand we’re clearly looking for success in the weird-record arena – last week we broke the bodypainting record down in Cork.
The current record for ‘Rock the Boat’ is 1,438people and the aim is to get fifteen hundred people singing and waving their arms to the soulful tune.
We have previous form in this field the students from NUIG held the record earlier this year as you can see in the video below:
